Peaking at right time

Nearly everyone in the Alabama football complex, from coach Nick Saban on down to the Crimson Tide players, credits the team's current three-game winning streak to a more consistent performance offensively.

At least superficially, that's correct. Not counting a season-opening blowout of Western Carolina, Alabama has posted its three of its top four totals of 2007 in both yardage and points in victories over Houston, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Quarterback John Parker Wilson has been particularly effective of late, including playing perhaps the best game of his career in the 41-17 win over Tennessee on Oct. 20. Wilson went 32-for-46 passing that day, with three touchdowns and a personal-best 363 yards as the Crimson Tide routed the Volunteers. Read more
